Squidmar Miniatures and Vallejo paints – could there be a better combination? We don’t think there is and are very pleased to announce that Emil and Lukas have carefully curated three paint sets from the new Vallejo range.
Each paint from each set has been specially selected for how often we in the Squidmar studio use them to paint the miniatures for our videos. This means that when you open the box, you’ll have the exact paints we use in our videos, so if you want to replicate a technique, style or colour scheme, you’ve got the exact paint straight away. As these are our go-to paints, you can rest assured we’ll keep using them for as long as we’re making videos too.
We’ve broken these sets up into three combinations – Essentials, Dark Future and Fantasy
The Essentials set are our go-to paints that we use in nearly every project from world shattering titans to humble goblins. We often get asked which paints we’d suggest new hobbyists get and they’ve often been from various brands and that can be tricky for people in different countries or territories to get. The Essentials set solves that problem and is the set we’d recommend to every hobbyist whether you’re a grizzled painting veteran or someone ready to dive into your first project. The Dark Future set combines our love of science fiction and building atmosphere on our miniatures. This set can be used for dramatic shadows, non-metallic metals, night-time atmospheres or just to enhance colours you’ve already used. The Fantasy set gives you a palette of greens, oranges and deep reds that can complement any fantastical scene or miniature. Each set is versatile enough to be a colour scheme on its own but when used in combination with the other sets, you’ll have all you need to paint something truly breath-taking, and we can’t wait to see what you do with them.

If you’ve been a miniature painter for any length of time or seen any of Squidmar Miniatures’ videos, you’ll have heard of the Redgrass Wet Palette. We at Squidmar Miniatures love them and can’t think of how we’d paint without them. With the game-changing combination of the larger size, the high quality TPE seal that keeps in moisture and their proprietary patented hydration system, it’s everything you need to paint your next masterpiece while saving your paints and mixes between painting sessions.
With their reusable hydration membranes, you can also save time, money and the planet. Each membrane can be cleaned so you can reuse it when you need to get some more space on your palette or finish a project. So rather than having to peel off the palette paper and throw it in the bin, you can just rinse the membrane in your sink and then you’re good to paint on it again.
Following on the success of the previous edition with an undead theme, Squidmar Miniatures has once again teamed up with Redgrass for a limited edition, this time featuring a detailed image of an Ork Workshop painted by Emir Durmišević. Other than the new image, the product is exactly the same as the previous edition.
With this you can not only paint great works of art all over your miniatures, but your painting desk can look good while doing it. 1 Everlasting Wet Palette Studio XL Lite – a larger palette for more paints so you can mix to your hearts content or have multiple projects on the go at one time. With the new superior TPE seal, the palette will keep your paints wet with the lid on and stop leaks if you need to move it around. Size 20×30×3cm.
15 Reusable Pro-hydration membranes – stronger than simple palette paper but with the same reliability you can expect from a Redgrass product so you can keep your paints hydrated and usable for longer periods.
2 Hydration Foam Pads – mould resistant and long-lasting foam pads that will stay hydrated for hours so you don’t have to keep topping up your palette constantly and can spend the time enjoying yourself.
1 Strap band – to lock in all the moisture and painting magic when you’re not using the palette.
Note about using the membranes: To reuse* the membranes, simply rinse the palette under water while the paint is still wet. Depending on the age or brand of paint you’ve used, some agitation might be necessary. A large, soft paint brush is good enough to get any residual paint off the surface with very little pressure. Please avoid using solvents or alcohols when cleaning your membrane as this can limit the lifespan of both the membrane and the foam. Reusability may vary depending on the brand, paint properties and other factors. Stains will appear over time, but these will have little to no effect on your fresh paints.

Perhaps the gods were bored when they fashioned the world of Sona. Perhaps they were insane. Since its creation, Sona has been a place of mad contradictions and shifting realities. Even time itself cannot escape the capricious deities, with past, present, and future overlapping or changing at their slightest whims.
By the schemes of an ambitious lesser god, a nightmare of unfathomable power is unleashed on Sona. Shirei, supreme sorceress of the Elves of Eiko, sends her most trusted warrior Kiranti on a mission to find the elder human pathfinder named Isard Quen, whom she believes is the key to saving the realm and the entire world.
