Digital Sculptor - 32mm Miniatures

Are you a world-class miniature sculptor who truly understands real minis - not just pretty renders? Then we’d like to meet you.

Squidmar Miniatures is expanding. We’re developing board games, miniature ranges, and a number of ambitious projects we can’t talk about publicly yet - and we’re looking for the right sculptor to help define how our worlds look and feel.

Not just someone who can push polygons… But someone who thinks about silhouette, paintability, production, storytelling, and the hobbyist’s experience at the painting desk. Someone who understands that a miniature only becomes real when it’s in someone’s hand.

You’ll be creating original characters, creatures, and factions for our games and miniature lines, working closely with painters, concept artists, and production to take ideas from sketch to final cast. Some projects will be highly expressive hero models. Others will be streamlined and gameplay-focused. In every case, quality and taste come first.

This role is for someone who truly loves the craft - and sees every sculpt as an object people will live with for years, whether on a shelf or a battlefield.

Role description

As a digital sculptor, you will:

  • Sculpt 32mm miniatures for games, display, and production

  • Work closely with concept art, painters, and manufacturers

  • Prepare sculpts for real-world production, not just renders

  • Iterate based on feedback and test prints

  • Help develop Squidmar’s sculpting language and quality bar

  • Manage projects and your own time

This is a production-minded role that requires management skills. A beautiful sculpt that can’t be manufactured or painted well is not finished.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience sculpting 32mm miniatures specifically (not just general 3D).

  • Experience with large-scale or display miniatures is considered a strong plus.

  • Understands scale, anatomy, printability, paintability and casting constraints

  • Can take feedback without ego

  • Thinks in forms, volumes, and surfaces - not just details

  • Cares about how a miniature feels to paint, not only how it looks on screen

  • Have produced miniatures for plastic injection molding previously
